Delicious Soft spongy melt in mouth potato rolls, these are extremely delicious believe me and you don’t have to take my word, try it out and check. I am sure this is definitely going to top your bread recipe list.

Oh, these were so delicious that once I had a bite of it, I had to eat more of it. While the bread was cooling , I was giving final touches to my other dishes. When I returned to dining table , there was only a small piece left, my son had managed to eat entire rolls by himself. You can’t just stop eating it after single bite

I had seen many potato bread recipes on the site and decided to improvise the recipe and make dinner rolls. I couldn’t believe it myself when this came out perfect and now this is another of my go-to dinner rolls dish. I hope you would try it out too and do let me know how it comes out

Preparation Time : 180 mins Cook Time : 18 mins Total Time : 198 mins

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 250 g Bread Flour
  • 50 g Potatoes Pureed/ Mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Instant active Yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 50 g Caster Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg yolk for brushing
  • 80 ml Milk
  • 30 g Soft unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds – Optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oil

Steps to Cook

  1. Sieve Flour in a bowl

2. Make 3 wells in flour, Add yeast, salt and sugar in it respectively. Gently mix everything well

3. Add potato puree , Potatoes should be well mashed and lump free

4. Add milk and egg to flour

5. Mix well until dough comes together

6. Add butter and knead into very soft dough. Even if dough is sticky it’s ok, do not add flour

7. Coat a bowl with oil. Transfer the dough into the greased bowl.

8. Cover and rest the dough in warm place for 90 minutes

9. The dough would have doubled in size. Gently punch the air

10. Now generously sprinkle flour on surface. Transfer the flour and knead well for 3-4 minutes. If dough is sticking to surface then add more flour. Note – the dough has to be very soft so be careful while adding flour

11. Line baking tray with parchment paper. Divide dough into equal portions. As I keep repeating myself, use weighing scale while dividing dough to get perfect equal shape and size rolls

12. Shape them into round/ oval and place them on baking tray leaving gap between them. Cover with cloth and rest aside in warm place for 45 minutes

13. Preheat oven to 180. Meanwhile the dough balls would have again expanded

14. Now do egg yolks wash on top of each roll. Alternatively, you can do milk wash too

15. I have sprinkled sesame seeds on top. This is optional, but this makes the dinner roll even more beautiful and nutritious

16. Oh these delicious rolls are now ready to go into oven. Bake for 18-22 min until it is evenly golden brown on top

17. Allow to rest for 15 minutes, serve warm with butter or gravy as desired. The soft spongy delicious rolls are ready to be gorged.
