Kebabs/Kababs are like “the must have” appetizer for me , be it lunch or dinner. Infact I am more of appetizer and dessert person. I can forego main course but never these 2 courses.
If you have loved meat and veg kebabs then its time to enjoy the fish kebabs as they are equally delightful and infact require lesser time to cook. These delicious Moroccan fish kebabs are easy to make and delectable in taste.
You can also introduce veggies like onions/bell peppers too along with the fish for additional taste
** The key to get the recipe right is to use firm fish fillets and not softer flaky ones, else the fish will fall out of the skewers
Preparation time: 60 mins Cooking time: 10 mins Total time: 70 mins
Servings : 4
Ingredients
- 500 g Firm Fish Fillet
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves
- 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 Garlic Cloves minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
Steps to prepare
- Cut fish into 1 inch pieces
- Add all the ingredients to fish and marinate well
- Rest aside for 1 hour in refrigerator
- Preheat grill to medium heat. Thread fish into skewers. If you are using wooden skewers, the way I did, then insert wooden skewers into water for 30 minutes
- Grill kebabs on medium heat for 10 minutes turning occasionally. Alternatively grill the fish on grill pan. Grease grill pan, place skewers and grill both sides
- Once fish is opaque and flaky, switch off
- Serve hot with sauce or mayonnaise or mint chutney
- This is plain fish fillet optionally veggies like onions, capsicum or cherry tomatoes can also be added to fish and grilled. If adding veggies, fish and veggies should be of same size
