Modaks are one of the most popular Indian dumplings specially prepared during Ganesh Chaturthi/ Ganesh Puja or Satynarayana Puja. Modaks are Lord Ganesha’s favorite sweet.. This is also often offered as prasad to Lord during pooja. Modaks are traditionally prepared with rice flour or sometimes wheat/Maida flour too with sweet – coconut, cardamom , jaggery filling or savory – dal filling and is steamed/fried. It is generally shaped with hands , now a days you get Modak molds to ease the shaping process
